Empowered through Diversity
Mall of America creates an environment where everyone’s unique perspectives and backgrounds are celebrated and embraced. A highlight of my role is engaging with various cultures and contributing to fostering celebrations such as Lunar New Year, Eid al-Fitr, and Dia de los Muertos while gaining valuable insights into these traditions. I am grateful to be part of a company that values diversity and makes me feel valued and empowered every day.

Equality, from the Top Down
At Mall of America, everyone helps out during busier times of the year. When I worked in Housekeeping, I had two Vice Presidents help flip for an event without asking! MOA makes us all feel like what we do matters to everyone, and nobody treats anyone less than others for simply being who they are—particularly for LGBTQ people.

Values that Build Connection
Mall of America’s leadership team has been meeting with team members in small, informal groups we’ve been calling Connect+Chat. These conversations build bridges across the organization, and it’s been great to know more about my colleagues who I might not see on a regular basis! Connect+Chat shows how both actions and values are both important to creating a welcoming workplace, and that makes it an exciting place to work and grow!

The Importance of Kindness
My favorite thing about working at MOA is helping team members develop their skills within their roles so they apply them at work and in their daily lives. I especially love our Connect+Chat sessions where team members of all positions—front line to executive leadership—come together, share their experiences + learn from each other. During a recent session, I learned that one of our executive leaders was raised by a parent with a disability, and hearing about how that has impacted their life reminded me how important it is to always choose kindness because we never know what someone else is going through.

Celebrating Everyone
My favorite thing about working at Mall of America is meeting new people every day. I particularly love helping families reconnect after they get turned around or lost—they're always so grateful! The details matter here, and it's shown through the ways MOA recognizes the work we all do. For example, we just celebrated Housekeeping Week, which highlighted the detailed, hard work we do in my department. It's great that Mall of America celebrates all its team members.
