Mall of America kicks off 2022 by announcing year-long 30th birthday celebration
The year-long celebration to feature 30 different sweepstakes for prizes including concert tickets, vacation getaways, shopping sprees and more

We can’t wait to share our year-long 30th birthday celebration featuring everything from giveaways, community events, and celebrity appearances with our guests who have truly helped make Mall of America what it is today.”
Kicking off the 30th birthday sweepstakes is the ultimate Super Bowl package giveaway. Running now through January 23, guests can enter to win two tickets to Super Bowl LVI on February 13 along with roundtrip airfare and hotel accommodations. In addition to a year of prize giveaways, guests can also expect a host of on-site celebrations including celebrity appearances, concerts, community events and so much more. Kicking off this series of celebratory events is a “Back to the 90’s” Drag Show on January 21 in the Huntington Bank Rotunda. The all ages, family-friendly drag show produced by Flip Phone Events will feature Drag artists from RuPaul’s Drag Race, Dragula as well as local Minneapolis Drag legends. The show will recreate many of the famous performances that were held in the Mall’s iconic Rotunda throughout the ‘90s such as Britney Spears, Shania Twain, Maria Carey, NSYNC and many more.
Mall of America first opened its doors on August 11, 1992 and welcomed 100,000 people that first day. Since then, the Mall has grown from 4.2 million square feet to 5.6 million square feet. The Mall is still known as the largest retail and entertainment destination in North America with more than 500 stores, Nickelodeon Universe, more than 50 dining options, dozens of attractions and two world-class hotels.
