Mall of America® is preparing to host the ultimate Black Friday shopping experience
Shoppers will have the opportunity to win prizes valued up to $600, enjoy live entertainment, and meet Santa and his merry MOA Elves
BLOOMINGTON, MN— November 10, 2022
The official kick off to the holiday shopping season known in the retail world as ‘Black Friday’ is back and bigger than ever at Mall of America®. In the spirit of the holidays, Mall of America will continue its tradition of closing on Thanksgiving then will re-open its doors Black Friday at 7 a.m. to a line of thousands of excited shoppers ready to take advantage of incredible deals and win exceptional prizes.
By popular demand, the Mall is bringing back the Mystery Scratch Off Cards. At the North Atrium, 4,000 mystery scratch off cards will be handed out giving shoppers an opportunity to scratch and win prizes valued up to $600. Additionally, the first 200 people in line at the main North entrance doors on Black Friday morning will receive Mall of America gift cards valued up to $500. Throughout Black Friday, shoppers can enjoy local and national music acts including, Young Dylan, Good NEWZ Girls, and Joel Paterson.

Candy Cane Institute will officially open on Black Friday. The Elf-run, Santa-approved ‘holiday research lab’ is back for the third season. Santa’s top team of Elves have set up Candy Cane Institute at Mall of America to find the true meaning of the holiday season. The interactive tour is led by the MOA Elves and Santa himself might even make a special appearance. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door for $5 + tax per person.
Those shopping at Mall of America this holiday season can earn big rewards. For every $250 spent at Mall of America between November 4, 2022, through December 24, 2022, shoppers can receive passes to Nickelodeon Universe, Crayola Experience, Rock of Ages Blacklight Mini Golf, Official MOA Tours, Sea Life and even more attractions. To participate, shoppers can submit their receipts and learn more via www.mallofamerica.com/rewards.
Gift shopping has also been made easier this year with an official Mall of America Gift Guide to help shoppers at any budget. The MOA Gift Guide will launch on November 14 featuring gifts under $250, $100, $50 and $25. While shopping, guests can check out Mall of America’s newest stores including Moose Knuckles, TravisMathew, Karl’s Fishing & Outdoors, Ebisu, Rowan, and Tradehome Shoes.
Mall of America will also be celebrating our variety of small businesses for Small Business Saturday with a day full of deals and live music by local performers through Minnesota Music Coalition. Guests who are looking to participate in Cyber Monday at Mall of America can enjoy 40% off Nickelodeon Universe and Crayola Experience annual passes.
