Nickelodeon Universe® at Mall of America® announces two exciting new attractions coming soon to the iconic theme park
Fan-favorite characters, Boots from Dora the Explorer and Appa from Avatar: The Last Airbender, will add adventure and thrills for guests

Nickelodeon Universe® is thrilled to announce two new attractions will make their debut at Mall of America® within the next year. The fun-filled rides feature beloved characters Boots from Dora the Explorer and Appa from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Construction on the rides will begin this fall.
Get ready to go on an adventure with Boots! Boots’ Banana Swing will allow guests to monkey around as they swing along with Boots through the breathtaking rainforest treetops. The fantastical ride is set to open this holiday season just in time for winter break.
Visitors will soon be able to take flight on Fly with Appa, where they will climb aboard their very own sky bison and feel the rush of exhilaration as they take to the skies, enjoying stunning aerial views while traveling up, down, and all around. These loyal and loving creatures use airbending to navigate air currents with their tails, allowing them to fly. Fly with Appa is set to open during spring break 2024.
Those aren’t the only changes guests can expect to find during their upcoming visits to Nickelodeon Universe, as Bubble Guppies Guppy Bubbler will be moving to a new location in the park. Although the ride will be temporarily closed when construction begins on the new attractions, it will reopen for riders this holiday season.

Nickelodeon Universe celebrated 15 years of fun at Mall of America this past March, which marked the iconic theme-park’s golden birthday. Nickelodeon Universe opened its doors on March 15, 2008. Since its opening, millions of guests have visited the one-of-a-kind destination featuring nearly 30 rides and attractions. The seven-acre theme park is home to many of Nickelodeon’s globally beloved characters from the brand’s iconic franchises, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, PAW Patrol, Dora the Explorer, and so many more.
