Twin Cities food truck Dough Dough to open first
Brick and mortar location at Mall of America®
BLOOMINGTON, MN— August 15, 2017
Dough Dough, the Twin Cities dessert food truck, is expanding to its first-ever brick and mortar location at Mall of America this fall. The edible eggless cookie dough concept will be located on level 3, north, across from Doc Popcorn.
Owners of the O’Cheeze food trucks, Haley and Tony Fritz made a quick decision to expand their food offering from savory grilled cheese to sweet cookie dough, and they had the truck up and running within thirty days of landing on a concept. Now the husband and wife business partners will expand the Minnesota-grown culinary offering to the largest retail and entertainment destination in the country.
“We continue to see this trend of non-traditional brands making the move to brick and mortar once they have started to establish their business model,” said Heather Brechbill Swilley, VP of Leasing at Mall of America. “Dough Dough is a family-run operation that has taken off with customers, and we can’t wait to bring the concept to life at Mall of America.”
The popular edible cookie dough trend has garnered national attention in recent months. Dough Dough has been hitting the streets of Minneapolis and St. Paul serving up “cookies by the spoonful” since May 2017.
"We are so excited to be in the Mall of America, growing up here we have watched the mall change and grow,” said Haley and Tony Fritz. “It’s an honor to be asked into their ranks.
Dough Dough has been so popular that we have had trouble getting cookie dough to all the people that want it. MOA is going to be a great outlet for us! Cookie dough for everyone."
The 600-square-foot location will open in late fall, in time for the holiday season. Dough Dough joins more than 50 dining options at Mall of America, which range from grab and go to full service restaurants.
